Territorial analysis and planning, projections and strategies for Brazilian family farming

(2012-2013) Study developed in partnership with a AgroIcone, at the request of the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA), via the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). It was carried out through a multi-criteria analysis of the Brazilian territory based on variables capable of reflecting the population's income, the economic performance of agricultural production, the agricultural suitability of the land and the interest for environmental conservation, in an integrated way and associated with scenarios economics created from a modeling carried out from the BLUM – Brazilian Land Use Model (or Land Use Model for Brazilian Agriculture). Thus, we sought to define future perspectives for Brazilian agriculture  for guidance to public managers related to the implementation of policies aimed at agriculture. The study analyzed the following products: cassava, beans, corn, coffee, rice, wheat, soy, chicken meat, cow's milk and pork.
