National Agrarian Reform Census - Projects Module
(2002-2003) National survey of survey and analysis of primary data from settlements of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) and made possible by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which was based on more than 14 thousand interviews conducted in 4,340 Settlement Projects (PA), created between 1995 and 2001, involving all Brazilian states. These projects, which together occupy an area of approximately 17.5 million hectares, have the capacity to settle 386,096 families and, at the time of the interviews, had 328,825 families occupying the lots.
In the research, a series of indices was created that allowed to evaluate the quality of the settlement projects in a comprehensive way: Index of effectiveness of land reorganization (IF); Quality of life index (QL); Index of articulation and social organization (IS); Operational Action Index (AO); and Environmental Quality Index (QA).
