Territorial analysis of technical assistance and rural extension (ATER) needs, infrastructure and plan for monitoring and evaluating the actions undertaken

(2015-2019) Technical cooperation work carried out with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and made possible by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

The main objectives of the study were: 1) to understand the different concepts about medium producers; 2) analyze the average farmer's ATER demand; 3) establish the basis for the relationship between MAPA and ANATER regarding demand and monitoring of service provision; and 4) structuring an automated query tool for monitoring ATER actions with these farmers, as well as disseminating its use by state ATER entities in Brazil. The work had complex spatial modeling, aiming at the characterization of the average farmer; carrying out field research in partnership with state agencies of ATER, which would make it possible to assess the conditions of these farmers and their needs; and design of a monitoring proposal that enables MAPA to manage service delivery processes and their results.
